Thrilling Victory: WAPDA Triumphs Over SNGPL in Badminton Semi-Final

WAPDA triumphed over SNGPL with a decisive 3-0 victory in the men’s team event semi-final on the second day of the 61st National Badminton Championship.

In the first match, Muqeet Tahir (WAPDA) defeated Tayyab Shafiq (SNGPL) with scores of 21-15, 21-15. Following that, Irfan Saeed and Azeem Sarwar (WAPDA) overcame Abuzar Rasheed and Jalees Konain (SNGPL) in a close match, winning 21-13, 24-22. Finally, Awais Zahid (WAPDA) secured the last win against Aashan Ranveer (SNGPL) with scores of 21-12, 16-21, 21-15.

In another semi-final, the Army also won against HEC by a score of 3-0. Raja Hassan (Army) edged out Rana Amraiz (HEC) in a hard-fought match, finishing 21-23, 21-15, 21-17. Raja Hasnain and Shoaib Riaz (Army) then took down Rana Amraiz and Hamza (HEC) with a score of 21-16, 23-25, 21-19. Abdullah Latif (Army) concluded the match with a win over Raza Ali Adil (HEC), finishing 21-9, 21-15.

In the women’s team event semi-final, WAPDA defeated the Pakistan Army 3-0. Mahoor Shahzad (WAPDA) won against Ammarah Ishtiaq (Army) with scores of 21-13, 21-19. Saima Waqas and Ghazala Siddique (WAPDA) overcame Alja Tariq and Sumiya Tariq (Army) after a challenging match, finishing 17-21, 21-11, 21-6. Ghazala Siddique (WAPDA) then dominated Hiba Tariq (Army) with a score of 21-6, 21-7.

In a thrilling contest, Sindh narrowly defeated Punjab 3-2. Sehar Abdul Majeed (Punjab) started strong, beating Mriyam Hamza (Sindh) 21-15, 21-11. However, Palwasha Bashir and Mariyam Hanif (Sindh) responded by defeating Sehar Majeed and Kanz ul Eman (Punjab) 21-12, 21-9. Mariam Hanif (Sindh) then claimed victory over Amal Muneeb (Punjab) with a close score of 22-20, 23-21. Amal Muneeb and Aimen (Punjab) fought back to defeat Mariyam Hamza and Rahima (Sindh) 21-8, 21-7. Ultimately, Palwasha Bashir (Sindh) secured the win against Aimen (Punjab) with a score of 21-12, 21-7.
