On Wednesday, the Royals triumphed over the Orioles in a two-game wild-card series, earning a spot in the American League Division Series against the Yankees. Kansas City not only bested Baltimore 2-1 on the field but also delivered a clever comeback on social media.

Prior to the series, the Orioles’ social media team playfully mocked the Royals by posting an image of a throne with an oriole perched on it, captioned, “Seat’s Taken.”

After their victory, the Royals made sure to remind the Orioles of their defeat. Kansas City’s social media team responded with a clever post that included a memorable quote from *The Wire*, the iconic HBO series set in Baltimore.

Now, American League MVP candidate Bobby Witt Jr. and the Royals are gearing up to head to New York to face the Yankees in the American League Division Series on Saturday.
