Panathinaikos Athens head coach Ergin Ataman became the first coach to be ejected in the 2025–26 EuroLeague season during Round 6’s road game against Virtus Bologna.
The incident occurred after Ataman received two consecutive technical fouls for vehemently protesting an unsportsmanlike foul called on Kendrick Nunn during an offensive drive. His intense reaction and gestures toward the officials led to an automatic ejection with 6:48 remaining in the third quarter.
At the time of Ataman’s dismissal, Panathinaikos trailed 42–52.
