Milwaukee Bucks’ star Damian Lillard has been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right calf. Initially, reports suggested that he would be out for the remainder of the season, but the situation appears to be more uncertain.
Insider Shams Charania shared on The Pat McAfee Show podcast that there is optimism regarding Lillard’s potential return this season. His treatment started promptly, and the medical staff acted quickly.
“There is hope. Typically, recovery from clots takes months, but I was told his treatment began early, the issue was identified quickly, and they got to work right away. He undergoes weekly check-ups, and the doctors are encouraged by his progress – the clot is shrinking,” Charania explained.
He also mentioned that Lillard has already begun light workouts and is hopeful of soon returning to full team training and making his comeback on the court.
