Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick confirmed that Luka Doncic participated fully in Thursday’s practice despite recent groin discomfort. Austin Reaves, meanwhile, was limited in practice due to an ankle issue, but Redick expects him to be available for Friday’s matchup.
“I know Austin, and I expect him to play,” Redick said, according to Jovan Buha.
Backup center Jaxson Hayes is listed as questionable with left knee soreness, the team announced.
The Lakers aim to rebound after falling to the Golden State Warriors in their season opener. Their next opponent is the Minnesota Timberwolves, who eliminated Los Angeles in the first round of last season’s playoffs.
Doncic has carried strong momentum into the new season, nearly recording a triple-double in the opener with 40 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists.
