Lithuanian national team point guard Rokas Jokubaitis has been ruled out for the remainder of EuroBasket 2025 after suffering a significant knee injury, sources confirm to Sports Macro.
The 24-year-old floor general sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Lithuania’s matchup against Finland. While driving to the basket, Jokubaitis planted his foot awkwardly after light contact and immediately fell to the floor in visible pain. He signaled for a substitution, hobbled off the court, and was later seen lying near the coaching staff before being consoled by teammates in the locker room.
An MRI conducted Tuesday in Tampere revealed a torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee, per Sports Macro sources. However, Jokubaitis is seeking a second opinion and is expected to travel to Munich for further evaluation with Bayern Munich’s medical team.
Jokubaitis, who signed a three-year deal with Bayern Munich before the tournament, had been instrumental for Lithuania throughout EuroBasket 2025. In just 24 minutes per game, he averaged 17.3 points (on 55.6% shooting from three), 8.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals, while leading the team in scoring, assists, steals, efficiency (18.0), and plus/minus (+11).
His loss is a major blow to Lithuania’s hopes moving forward, as Jokubaitis had emerged as the emotional and tactical leader of the squad.
