Partizan Belgrade are in the final stages of signing Nick Calathes from AS Monaco, sources confirm. The veteran EuroLeague point guard is expected to join the Serbian club after Monaco, where he was not in coach Vassilis Spanoulis’ plans for the 2025–26 season, agreed to let him leave.
Calathes, 36, remains under contract with Monaco through the 2025–26 season but has not played in any EuroLeague games this year. In the French League, he appeared in three games, averaging 0.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 12 minutes per contest.
Partizan accelerated discussions following an injury to Carlik Jones, identifying Calathes as a player who can provide immediate leadership and stability on the court.
Last season, Calathes helped Monaco reach the EuroLeague title game, posting 3.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in under 18 minutes per game. Partizan has also strengthened its frontcourt by acquiring Bruno Fernando from Real Madrid.
