Golden State stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green addressed the recent FBI arrests of NBA figures, including Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups, amid gambling investigations.
Curry emphasized player responsibility and the integrity of the league. “Everybody’s very mindful of what to do, what not to do… the integrity of the game is fine,” he said, noting that players are aware of their responsibilities both on and off the court.
Green expressed shock at the news but took a measured stance on the league’s partnerships with gambling companies. “The business is the business,” he said. “I’m not gonna sit here and condemn the league… It’s a tough moment for the individuals involved, but I’m not gonna say that the league is at fault.”
Federal prosecutors allege Rozier and others exploited non-public information about player availability and performance to place bets, while Billups faces charges in an illegal poker ring tied to organized crime. Green stressed that the incidents, while serious for those involved, don’t reflect the NBA’s overall integrity.
