Vasilije Micic gave Serbia a brief injury scare during their dominant EuroBasket 2025 Group A win over Czechia, but has since reassured fans that he is fine.
The Serbian guard took a hard hit to the chest and ribs from Czechia’s Tomas Kyzlink, which forced him to leave the game and head to the locker room. Micic did not return to the court for the remainder of the match, raising concerns — especially in light of Bogdan Bogdanovic being ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury.
However, Micic calmed fears after the game, telling RTS: “It’s good, I received a hit, everything should be okay.”
With Serbia now 4–0 in Group A at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025, the team remains on course for a strong finish in the group stage. Micic acknowledged the increased responsibility he carries in Bogdanovic’s absence but emphasized that his mindset remains unchanged.
“I think I’ve shown plenty of times that I’m a professional who always gives his best,” he said. “It’s expected that I’ll play more now with Bogdan out, but my approach is always the same.”
Reflecting on the game, Micic noted the challenge of facing a team with nothing to lose: “These games aren’t easy — they play without pressure, and we have to find the positives. The most important thing is that we won.”
Looking ahead, Micic previewed Serbia’s final group game — a battle for first place against a resurgent Turkey.
“Turkey plays a strong, recognizable style under Coach Ataman. They’ve finally found chemistry, gotten over past injuries, and have talented players. It’s going to be a high-quality game,” he concluded.
