Prominent promoter Eddie Hearn has shared his insights on the upcoming rematch between WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and former champion Tyson Fury.
Hearn noted that both fighters endured significant damage in their first bout and questioned who will have the greater stamina for the rematch. Despite this, he believes that Tyson Fury will come out on top.
“I’m now a bit closer to Team Fury, and they’re confident Tyson will be in much better shape for the rematch. Interestingly, I’ve only bet against Fury once, which was in Usyk’s last fight, but I truly believe Tyson can win this time,” Hearn said.
He added, “It will be intriguing to see how much the first fight took out of both fighters. Usyk was struggling to stand after the bout, and Fury was disoriented in the ninth round. I think Tyson can secure the win. However, we need to focus on our job this Saturday (Joshua – Dubois fight), and then look forward to the ring on December 21.”
The rematch between Fury and Usyk is scheduled for December 21, with Usyk already in training for the fight.
