In yesterday’s IBF world heavyweight title match, Anthony Joshua suffered a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Despite this setback, the former champion made it clear that retirement is not on his agenda, stating he is a “true warrior.”
Joshua was knocked down three times in the fifth round but managed to get back up each time to continue fighting.
After the bout, the British boxer remained upbeat during the press conference, emphasizing that he is not considering retirement.
Quote: “I always keep my head held high. We aimed for success, but unfortunately, we fell short. We took a risk and wrote a chapter in British boxing history. Of course, I want to keep fighting. I am a true warrior.”
Joshua also acknowledged Dubois for his strong performance and thanked his team for their preparation:
“Hats off to Dan. We have to give him credit. I also want to thank my team. There were mistakes, but that’s part of the game. At the elite level, even a small mistake can cost you victory.”
This defeat marks Joshua’s fourth loss in his career. He previously lost to Andy Ruiz in 2019 but avenged that loss later that year, and was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk in both 2021 and 2022.
