UFC champion Francis Ngannou addressed the media at a press conference in Riyadh regarding his upcoming MMA fight. On October 19, Ngannou will square off against Renan Ferreira in an MMA match in Saudi Arabia’s capital.
“I think it’s going to be amazing. I wouldn’t call it a return to MMA, but for me, it’s going to be a big night to make a statement, rediscover myself, and prove what I’m made of.
I credit my hardships and my upbringing. The struggles I faced at a young age prepared me for life. From the start, I knew I was on my own and had to take care of everything myself. It was tough, but it prepared me for the future. Now, when things get tough, I know I can handle it. Everything in life comes and goes — nothing is forever. It’s all about resilience. You have to look beyond what’s right in front of you because there’s always something better ahead,” said Ngannou.
Ngannou has participated in two professional boxing bouts, losing a competitive fight to Tyson Fury and then being knocked out by Anthony Joshua. Following these matches, the French-Cameroonian fighter announced his return to MMA.
