Undefeated former middleweight champion Jermall Charlo is set to make his return to the ring soon.
Charlo is expected to compete in a super middleweight bout on May 31 at a Premier Boxing Champions event in Las Vegas, according to BoxingScene, citing a source involved in the negotiations.
The identity of Charlo’s opponent and the full fight card are yet to be confirmed. However, BoxingScene reported earlier this week that former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant is expected to headline the event in a separate bout.
As a reminder, the 34-year-old Charlo hasn’t fought since his unanimous decision victory over Jose Benavidez Jr. on November 25, 2023, in Las Vegas.
Charlo was stripped of his WBC middleweight title in May, following his arrest in Pearland, Texas, on suspicion of driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of an accident.
It has also been previously reported that Oleksandr Usyk may face Jake Paul in an upcoming bout.
