It’s official: Lewis Edmondson will defend his British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles against undefeated challenger Ezra Taylor on October 25 at London’s O2 Arena. The long-anticipated grudge match has been added to the undercard of the heavyweight showdown between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley, as part of Queensberry Promotions’ “All or Nothing” event.

Edmondson (11-1, 3 KOs) captured his domestic titles last year with a majority decision win over Dan Azeez—a result that sparked debate across the boxing world due to its razor-thin margin. His title reign continued despite suffering the first loss of his professional career in July, when he dropped a contentious decision to Daniel Lapin at Wembley Stadium. That bout, while blemishing his record, did not affect his championship status.

Now, the 29-year-old known as “The Saint” faces his mandatory challenger in Taylor (12-0, 8 KOs), in a high-stakes domestic clash that has been brewing for the better part of a year. Their rivalry has played out across social media and at press events, setting the stage for what promises to be an explosive showdown.

Taylor enters the bout fresh off a hard-earned unanimous decision win over Troy Jones—his first under new head coach Malik Scott, who is widely recognized for his work with former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder. Whether that new partnership will pay dividends against the more defensively tricky and technically savvy Edmondson remains to be seen.

With personal tension, titles on the line, and national pride at stake, Edmondson vs. Taylor is shaping up to be one of the most compelling domestic fights of the year.
