Durham has re-signed New Zealand fast bowler Neil Wagner on a red-ball contract for the second half of the county cricket season.
The 39-year-old played one Championship match and three One-Day Cup games for Durham last season, but his time was cut short due to injury.
Wagner, who retired from international cricket in February 2024 and has taken 841 first-class wickets, has had previous stints in England with Northamptonshire, Essex, Somerset, and Lancashire.
His first match for Durham will be on June 22 against Sussex, and he will remain available until the end of the season in September.
“I am extremely excited to join Durham again,” Wagner said on the club’s website. “I really enjoyed my short time there last season, but I feel like I have some unfinished business and want to contribute and play a role for such a great club.”
The left-arm bowler will retire from domestic cricket in New Zealand after his game for Northern Districts against Otago on Tuesday, where a victory would secure them the Plunket Shield title.
