The new T20 cricket tournament, the Global Super League, authorized by CWI, is set to launch soon. According to ESPNcricinfo, the tournament will commence on Tuesday, November 26, and will feature five teams competing in Guyana from November 26 to December 7, with a prize pool of one million dollars.
This marks the first standalone cricket event in South America, featuring the Guyanese team Amazon Warriors from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) alongside four other recognized T20 teams from around the globe. Among the invited teams is Hampshire, the three-time champions of England’s T20 Blast.
The Global Super League will consist of 11 matches in total. Each team will play four group-stage matches, with the top two teams advancing to the final.
The tournament will run concurrently with the Abu Dhabi T10, which is scheduled from November 21 to December 2, as well as the Bangladesh tour of the Caribbean, beginning with Tests from November 22 to December 4, followed by three ODIs from December 8 to 12 and three T20Is from December 16 to 20.
