England’s annual Soccer Aid—a celebrity-packed charity football match supporting UNICEF—has become a staple event, typically held at Manchester United’s Old Trafford and broadcast on ITV. For Luke Littler, the darts sensation from Warrington (just 26 km from Manchester), playing in the match would be a personal milestone.
A devoted Manchester United supporter, Littler told EsportsInsider.com, “I’d love to play in Soccer Aid, but it’s hard finding the time—and I just hope I don’t break my arm doing it.”
A Gamer at Heart
Outside of darts, Littler—nicknamed “The Nuke”—is an avid online gamer. He often teams up with fellow streamer Ginge and has hopes of collaborating with content group the BOV Boys. “If I wasn’t playing darts, I’d probably be a streamer,” he admitted.
For those navigating rising social media fame, Littler offered some simple advice: “It’s harder now to break through. But if you start getting followers, just ignore the noise. Don’t look at it. Do your thing. I check in now and then—mostly just to laugh.”
On Top of the Darts World
July was a milestone month for Littler, who captured the World Matchplay title—one of darts’ most prestigious tournaments. His 18–13 victory over James Wade at the Winter Gardens completed a rare “Triple Crown,” adding to his World Darts Championship and Premier League Darts wins.
But the Road Test Remains Elusive
Despite his sporting success, one challenge remains: the driving theory test. Littler recently failed for the fifth time, humorously sharing the result with his 1.9 million Instagram followers. “5th time and counting,” he posted, showing the official notice of his unsuccessful attempt—this time, just two answers short of passing.
Transfer Talk: What United Needs
Littler also weighed in on Manchester United’s transfer prospects. Concerned about Garnacho potentially leaving, he suggested replacements. “If Villa want him, we should take Watkins. Or get (Emiliano) Martinez. The three we need? Watkins, Douglas Luiz, and Martinez.”
He also considered other options: “Mbuemo or Cunha could happen. We need a midfielder. Douglas Luiz can sit or go forward. But honestly, I’m happy with Ugarte and Mainoo. Or maybe Bruno drops back, and Cunha supports the front two.”
