Simon Whitlock has secured his spot in the Finals Night of Week Two in the MODUS Super Series after a thrilling conclusion to his group match. ‘The Wizard’ pulled off some incredible darts, finishing with a 4-3 victory over Andy Hamilton, which was highlighted by an impressive six 180s and a stunning 124 checkout to claim the group win in the short format.

The action leading up to Whitlock’s qualification was intense. Graham Hall had earlier defeated Tommy Morris 4-2, keeping the fate of the group in Whitlock’s hands. Had Whitlock lost, Hall would have taken the top spot. But Whitlock made sure to edge through narrowly and secure his place in the Finals Night line-up, leaving Hall, Hamilton, and Morris to battle it out in Group B. Steve Robertson and Andreas Nikolaou will compete in Group C.

The MODUS Super Series is a weekly event where 12 players compete from Monday to Friday, aiming to secure a spot in the final group, which takes place on Saturday night. The player who finishes first after the three sessions of the week directly qualifies for Finals Night, while the other players are divided into two groups based on their positions. A total of five players qualify for the finals—three from Group B, two from Group C, and the direct winner from Group A.

Finals Night features a small group stage, followed by semifinals and a final to determine the weekly winner. Following each week’s competition, a fresh set of 12 players will compete, continuing this cycle until the end of the 12-week period. After the final week, all weekly winners will participate in “Champions Week” to crown the series champion, with a top prize of £25,000 up for grabs.

Whitlock and Hamilton will be part of Group A, along with Hall, Robertson, Morris, and Nikolaou. The victor from this group will head directly to Finals Night, while the remaining players will join Group B, which includes Jamie Hughes, Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams, and Ashley Coleman. Group C will consist of Jenson Walker, James Hubbard, and Adam Mould.

The Finals Night will take place on Saturday evening, beginning at 10 PM, where the players will compete for the coveted weekly title.
