This marks the seventeenth edition of the European Darts Championship, and last year, Peter Wright claimed his second title by defeating James Wade in the final. Notably, Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor hold the record for the most titles in this tournament, each having won four times. Don’t miss any of the exciting matches as the competition unfolds!
Distribution of prize money
This year, the prize pool for the European Championship has seen a significant increase of £100,000 compared to 2023. While the amounts for the winner and runner-up remain unchanged, the additional funds benefit players who don’t reach the final.
All 32 participants are guaranteed a starting premium of £7,500, which is 25% higher than last year. Ultimately, the winner of the 2024 European Darts Championship will take home £120,000. This increase aims to reward more players for their performances throughout the tournament!
