The 2025 EVUSA/USEF Vaulting National Championships brought the nation’s best vaulters to Rancho Murieta, California, for a dynamic three-day competition at the Murieta Equestrian Center. Athletes from across the country showcased their strength, artistry, and connection with their equine partners across the 3*, 2*, and 1* divisions, highlighting the continued growth and excellence of the sport.
3 Division: Palmer and Brooks Capture National Titles*
The 3* division delivered elite-level vaulting throughout the weekend. Kimberly Palmer (Half Moon Bay Vaulters) led the women’s competition with commanding performances on Jameson C.R. She posted scores of 8.372 in compulsories, 8.334 in technical, and 8.219 in freestyle, securing the national title with an impressive overall of 8.308.
Caroline Morse (Silicon Valley Vaulting Club), vaulting on Grasshopper Af, took the reserve championship with a solid 8.015 overall, thanks to her scores of 8.159 (compulsory), 7.874 (technical), and 8.012 (freestyle). Emily Rose (Pacific Coast Vaulting Club) finished third with a final score of 7.693 on El Doctro.
In the men’s competition, Jace Brooks (Wasatch Peak Vaulters) emerged as the overall champion aboard Touch Of The Guinness Blues. He scored 7.669 in compulsories, 6.171 in technical, and 7.342 in freestyle to finish on a 7.061.
2 Division: Rising Stars and Teams Show Promise*
The 2* competition spotlighted the sport’s emerging talent in both individual and team events.
Squads & Pas de Deux
The Pacific Coast Vaulting Club claimed the 2* B Squad title with a strong showing aboard El Doctro. The team—Emmalyn and Evalyn Rotter, Clea and Nina Limbrey, Sierra Hassett, Francesca Foster, and Jade Parker—earned a 6.917 in compulsories and 7.583 in freestyle for a combined 7.250.
In 2* Pas de Deux, Woodside Vaulters’ Yumi Idehara and Audrey Garrahan vaulted on Pino Del Rio to win the title with freestyles scoring 8.159 and 7.958, for a combined 8.059. Emmalyn and Evalyn Rotter (Pacific Coast Vaulting Club) were close behind on Duke Wilhem with a 7.639 overall.
Individual Competitions
Kylynn Ghafouri (Davon Equestrian Vaulters) stood out in the 2* Young Vaulter/Gold Female category, leading from start to finish aboard Rotary 21. Her scores—7.833 (compulsory), 8.249 (modified technical), and 7.858 (freestyle)—secured her the title with a 7.980. Lilly Belinski (Golden Gate Vaulters) finished second with a 7.320, and Lillian Kuhl (Mile High Vaulters) took third with 6.660.
In the 2* Silver Individual Female, Emi Yang (Four Winds Vaulting) dominated a large field, scoring 7.435 in compulsories and delivering freestyle scores of 8.471 and 8.275 across two horses (Lucero De La Noche and Grasshopper Af) for an overall 8.060. Audrey Garrahan and Yumiko Idehara (Woodside Vaulters) followed in second and third with scores of 7.244 and 7.222 respectively.
On the men’s side, Larry Markegard (Wasatch Peak Vaulters) took the 2* title aboard Pino Del Rio, scoring 7.021 in compulsories and freestyle scores of 7.374 and 7.350 to finish with 7.248. James Fiedler (Hope Falls Vaulting Club) claimed second with a 6.269.
1 Division: Emerging Talent Impresses Across Events*
The 1* division highlighted promising young athletes and strong team dynamics in a range of events.
Team Performances
In the 1* C Squad, Woodside Vaulters claimed the top spot with team members Elsie Mead, Allie Jamei, Fredericka Blatt, Lillian Henderson, Talia Whiteley, and Emma Zhou scoring 5.896 (compulsory) and 6.098 (freestyle) for an average of 5.997. EVX Vaulting Club followed in second with 5.247.
Woodside also won the 1* Trot Squad with a 5.993 on Boscoe, while Mt Eden Vaulting Club took second with 5.673 on Marmaduke.
The Tall City Vaulters “Sassy Team Sisters” earned top honors in the 1* Canter 2-Phase Squad with a 6.912 aboard Only In Fairytales. Serendipity Vaulters and Hope Falls Vaulting Club rounded out the podium.
In the 1* Trot 2-Phase Squad, Golden Gate Vaulters claimed victory with a 6.520 on Xena, followed by Serendipity Vaulters (6.040) and Apex Vaulters (5.715).
Pas de Deux & Individual Results
Pacific Coast Vaulting Club’s Sophia Smoot and Megan Murphy won the 1* Canter Pas de Deux aboard Mega with a 6.078. Golden Gate’s Ava Ouzenian and Sofia Artinjian took second, and Sunrise Vaulters finished third.
In 1* Trot Pas de Deux, Ariana Jimenez and Emily Burns (Golden Gate Vaulters) earned the title with a 6.346 aboard Xena.
Georgina Olamendi (LAEVC) led the 1* Copper Individual Female division with a 6.902 aboard California. Samantha Artinjian (Golden Gate Vaulters) followed with a 6.848, and Vivianna Singer (Hope Mountain Vaulters) was third with 6.705.
On the men’s side, Landon Rupp (Hope Falls Vaulting Club) won with 6.505 aboard Oakley. Luke Torquato (Independent) and Ryan Bindewald (Crown Equestrian Vaulters) completed the podium with scores of 6.175 and 5.997 respectively.
The 2025 Vaulting National Championships demonstrated not only high-caliber performances but also the continued passion and dedication fueling the sport’s evolution in the U.S. From experienced vaulters to rising stars, every competitor contributed to a weekend filled with unforgettable moments and equestrian excellence.
