The 2025 Platinum Performance/USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals – East wrapped up on Sunday at the USET Foundation Headquarters at Hamilton Farm, with Eleanor Rudnicki of Conroe, Texas, and her mount Qwantreau capturing the championship title after impressive performances in Phases III and IV.
Sunday’s final phases were designed to challenge the top riders’ ability to navigate a technical jumper-style course while showcasing the foundational elements of classic American equitation. Phase III, which carries the highest multiplier (2.0), featured a 1.15m course with bending lines, unrelated distances, and an open water element to test accuracy, adjustability, and time management.
Rudnicki, aboard Qwantreau—a 2016 Belgian Warmblood gelding (Taran De La Pomme x R. Adermie) owned by Sadie Leon—maintained her lead from earlier phases with a strong jumping round, earning a score of 90 and bringing her total to 419 at the conclusion of Phase III.
She then delivered the highest combined score in the final ride-off phase (Phase IV), scoring a 385 and solidifying her win in the prestigious event.
The top four competitors—Rudnicki, Lily Epstein (Coral Gables, Fla.), Baylee Rowan (Little Compton, R.I.), and Emily Jurnovoy (Woodstock Valley, Conn.)—returned for Phase IV, which involved a horse swap and shortened course to determine the final placings. The format tested riders’ adaptability, poise, and horsemanship under pressure.
Judge Chris Kappler praised the caliber of the top four riders: “From the moment they walked in the ring, there was a certain amount of presence. They all demonstrated a high level of connection with the horse and incredible horsemanship,” said Kappler.
Following her win, Rudnicki reflected on the years of dedication that led to this moment. “This is a huge win,” she said. “I’ve been working and preparing for this championship for several years. I’m glad it went well, and I look forward to the opportunities this brings in the jumper ring.”
She also sees this milestone as a springboard for her professional ambitions. “I hope this can open up more opportunities. It’s great to be competing in a place with so much history, surrounded by people who work closely with the U.S. teams. Representing the U.S. Jumping Team is one of my ultimate goals.”
