Day two of the 2025 U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions saw the Intermediaire I competitors return to the Grand Prix Arena to contest the FEI Intermediate I tests. Meanwhile, the Adequan®/USEF Para Dressage National Championships continued with riders in the Para Intermediaire and Para Grand Prix divisions completing their Test B performances.
USEF Intermediaire I Dressage National Championship
Sabine Schut-Kery (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and Jojoba de Massa, a 2014 Portuguese Sport Horse stallion owned by Four Winds Farm, earned their second blue ribbon of the show. Building on their Prix St. Georges victory from Monday, the pair posted a 71.412% in the Intermediate I-1 test to top Tuesday’s leaderboard.
Close behind was Lauren Spreiser (Marshall, Va.) aboard C. Cadeau, a 2016 Danish Warmblood gelding owned by the Elvis Syndicate LLC, who scored 70.353%. Elizabeth Bortuzzo (Frenchtown, N.J.) and Vincent, a 2017 Oldenburg gelding co-owned with Mark Paul, finished a narrow third with 70.294%, just fractions behind Spreiser.
The Intermediaire I riders will take a break on Wednesday before concluding the division with the FEI Intermediate Freestyle tests on Thursday, August 21, starting at 3:00 p.m. CT.
Adequan®/USEF Intermediaire I Para Dressage National Championship
In the FEI Para Intermediate Test B, Sienna Busking (Owasso, Okla.) and Divino, a 2000 Hanoverian gelding owned by Roberta Clark, earned the top score of 63.963%. Hot on their heels, Elizabeth Welch (Summerville, S.C.) piloted Baltico BRH, a 2018 PRE gelding she owns, to second place with 63.029%. Third place went to Victoria Yu (Coatesville, Pa.) and Carrera GH, a 2005 Hanoverian mare owned by Tami Glover, who posted 61.451%.
Adequan®/USEF Grand Prix Para Dressage National Championship
In the FEI Para Grand Prix Test B, Kate Shoemaker (Wellington, Fla.) and Supreme, a 2016 Westphalian gelding she owns and shows, secured their second victory of the championship with a score of 74.324%.
Rider Roxanne Trunnell (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) and Rumour Has It, a 2012 Hanoverian gelding owned by Simone Van Der Schalk, followed with a strong 69.583% for second place. Third went to Eleanor Brimmer (Wellington, Fla.) aboard My Moment, a 2010 Hanoverian mare she owns and rides, who scored 66.666%.
Both divisions will showcase their FEI Para Freestyle tests on Wednesday starting at 12:30 p.m. CT, followed by the presentation of the national champion awards.
