The spotlight was on the Young Rider teams today at the Discover Dressage/FEI North American Youth Dressage Championship, presented by USDF, as the continent’s top youth riders took centerline in the FEI Young Rider Team Test. Representing their home regions with skill and determination, Region 4 emerged as the 2025 gold medalist with a commanding combined score of 205.559.
Region 3 followed closely to earn silver with a total score of 199.795, while Region 6 secured the bronze medal on 195.646.
Region 4’s success was marked by strong, polished rides from its team members. Lexie Kment (Palmyra, Neb.) led the charge aboard Gatino van Hof Olympia, a 2011 KWPN gelding owned by her mother, Jami Kment. The duo delivered an expressive, fluid test that earned a 69.647%, the highest individual score of the day.
“This is my fourth year at NAYC, but my first as a Young Rider, and I love this competition,” said Kment. “Sharing this with my team, my horse, and my mom, who owns him, makes it even more special.”
Averi Allen (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) and Silhouette, a 2014 Oldenburg mare owned by Jonni Allen, added a strong 68.618% to the team total. The pair displayed refined collection and balance, reflecting their five-year journey together.
“I’ve trained her up the levels myself, and she’s truly the best mare I’ve ever ridden,” said Allen. “I’m so proud of her.”
Ella Fruchterman (Woodbury, Minn.) rounded out the team performance riding Holts Le’Mans, her 2011 Danish Warmblood gelding. Their test scored 67.294%, highlighted by an impressive transition from collected walk to canter.
“This is my last year as a Young Rider, so I’m savoring every moment,” Fruchterman said. “Winning gold with my teammates makes it unforgettable.”
The Young Rider competitors will return to the arena on Saturday, August 2, for the Individual Test, starting at 8:00 a.m. EST.
