Bozdağ Film Plateaus, renowned for hosting iconic historical series like Diriliş Ertuğrul (“Resurrection: Ertuğrul”), Kuruluş Osman (“Establishment: Osman”), and Destan (“Epic”), is also a premier venue for Türkiye’s largest equestrian, musical, dance, circus, and choreography performances. As the third-largest film studio globally and the largest in Europe, Bozdağ Film Plateaus invites visitors to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of ancient Turkish history, particularly from the Ottoman period.
One of the standout attractions is the “Epic of Horses” show, which features a talented team of acrobats from the Bozdağ Film choreography department and continues to captivate audiences with its thrilling performances.
Horses as Companions
Janbi Ceylan, the general art director and choreographer of Bozdağ Film Plateaus, shared that the equestrian dance performance at the studio is the first of its kind in Türkiye. “We are honored to host such a unique event here at Bozdağ Film Studios,” Ceylan said.
The performance features 40 riders and nine horses, with horses holding a significant place in Turkish tradition as companions and allies. Ceylan explained, “The show tells a story that brings together horses and humans. We offer our audience a 40-minute performance, beautifully choreographed.” He also noted that while similar performances exist worldwide, equine arts have gained particular attention due to the success of historical series like Diriliş Ertuğrul. “We have a deep-rooted tradition of horsemanship, and equestrian sports continue to be an integral part of Turkish culture. Our goal is to present this aspect in a captivating performance,” he added.
With years of experience working with horses, Ceylan highlighted their irresistible charm. “Horses have a magnetic attraction, even for those who have never encountered one. Interacting with them is an enjoyable experience with positive effects on people. Horses naturally draw attention, and the sight of our performers, illuminated by lights and accompanied by music, enhances this experience. We are focused on the stage aspect, showcasing our talents as cündis—a term for those highly skilled in horsemanship.”
Ceylan also mentioned that the performances will continue during the festival season. “Bozdağ Film Plateaus will remain open to visitors during the holidays, just as it did during Ramadan. Our audience has consistently enjoyed our shows, and we look forward to celebrating the holiday with them. We’ll be offering exciting activities, including the Epic of Horses performance, ensuring everyone has a memorable experience.”
