Portugal secured a 3-1 victory over Poland in the UEFA Nations League yesterday, with Cristiano Ronaldo once again finding the net, marking his third consecutive game with a goal. The match also saw Ronaldo reach a historic milestone, becoming the first player ever to record 100 wins with a national team.
Despite his age, Ronaldo continues to set new records. His goal against Poland was the 906th of his career, increasing the gap between him and his closest challengers. It also brought his international goal tally to 133, while his long-time rival Lionel Messi has 109 goals for Argentina.
In addition to his 100 official national team victories, Ronaldo is now tied with Sergio Ramos for the most wins in all matches, including friendlies, with 131 victories each.
Cristiano Ronaldo made his Portugal debut in 2003 at the age of 18, and has participated in every major tournament since Euro 2004. While Euro 2024 marked the first tournament in which he didn’t score, he has quickly bounced back, scoring in all three of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League matches this season.
