In the 30th round of the Premier League, Newcastle hosted Brentford, and the match turned out to be a memorable one for one of the ‘Magpies’ players.
Details: Alexander Isak scored a goal in this match, and according to Opta, he became just the third player in Newcastle United’s history to score ten or more goals in both home and away Premier League matches within a single season. The only other players to achieve this were Andrew Cole in the 1993/94 season and Alan Shearer in the 2001/02 campaign.
Isak’s impressive performance has also caught the attention of Barcelona president Joan Laporta. Laporta is reportedly eager to make Isak the future ‘number nine’ for Barcelona and is determined to secure his signature.
Reminder: Newcastle fans recently celebrated a historic achievement—their first domestic trophy in 70 years, the English League Cup. On March 29th, over 200,000 fans gathered in the city for a massive parade to commemorate the triumph.
