Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has failed a doping test, leading to his provisional suspension, according to the Premier League club. Reports indicate the Ukraine international tested positive for a banned substance following an “adverse finding” in a urine sample flagged by the Football Association (FA).
The club released a statement emphasizing their commitment to the FA’s testing programme and expressed support for Mudryk.
“Both the club and Mykhailo fully support the FA’s testing programme, and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested. Mykhailo has categorically confirmed that he has never knowingly used any banned substances. We will now work with the relevant authorities to determine the cause of this adverse finding.”
Mudryk also addressed the situation on Instagram, stating:
“I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to the FA contained a banned substance.”
Further investigations are expected as both the player and club cooperate with authorities to resolve the matter.
