Arsenal hosted Southampton in the Premier League’s seventh round, while Manchester City took on Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
The “Gunners” had a lackluster first half, with both teams heading into the break scoreless. However, early in the second half, Southampton managed to find the net. Arsenal quickly regrouped and scored three goals to secure a 3-1 victory, with contributions from Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka.
In the other match, Manchester City battled to a 3-2 win over Fulham. The “Cottagers” took an unexpected lead, but City responded with three goals, including a brace from Mateo Kovačić and a strike from Jeremy Doku. Fulham fought back and scored again through Rodrigo Muniz, but their late effort did not alter the result.
Both Arsenal and City continue to chase league leaders Liverpool, who are just one point ahead after their earlier victory against Crystal Palace.
