Aston Villa have strengthened their attacking options this summer with the signing of Brazilian international Gabi Nunes. The forward has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third, joining from Spanish side Levante after just one season.
Nunes, 27, began her professional career with Centro Olimpico in 2014 and has since played for Brazilian club Corinthians and Madrid CFF. She brings a wealth of experience from different leagues and has earned 22 caps for Brazil, playing a key role in their silver medal win at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Villa’s new manager, Robert de Pauw, has been busy this summer, bringing in reinforcements across all areas of the pitch as he aims to improve on last season’s seventh-place finish.
Speaking on Nunes, de Pauw said: “I first saw Gabi a few years ago; she is a technically gifted player with an eye for goal. She can operate in tight spaces and also gets into the box to finish crosses. Gabi is versatile and will be key to our ongoing development.”
Nunes will team up with fellow new signing Katie Robinson, who joined from Brighton after scoring ten goals last season.
Villa have also bolstered their midfield, signing Miri Taylor, Jill Baijings, and Missy Bo Kearns.
