Athletic Bilbao has been penalized for fan misconduct during their Europa League match against Roma, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
According to a statement from the club, UEFA has imposed a €30,000 fine and a ban on ticket sales for their next away game in the tournament. Additionally, a two-year probationary period has been established, during which further ticket sale bans may be enforced.
Incidents included flares being ignited and thrown from the Athletic fan section, as well as objects aimed at players on the pitch and at Roma supporters in other areas.
As a reminder, after two rounds in the Europa League, Athletic currently has 4 points, while Roma has 1 point.
