Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen was recently forced to address questions about his appearance during an interview with Papa Pinkus. The host had suggested that the footballer might be using banned substances, a claim Huijsen quickly denied.
Pinkus asked the 19-year-old Spaniard if he used marijuana, to which Huijsen responded, “No,” and went on to explain that his “high” look is simply a result of his natural appearance, specifically his “sleepy eyes.”
“So basically, for everyone watching, I have sleepy eyes, I got it from my mum. My mum has sleepy eyes. I’m not high, I’m sorry, I’m not high. We are not allowed to take weed, it’s doping control. I’m not high, it’s just how I was born. I can’t do anything about it,” Huijsen clarified.
Despite having just made his debut for Spain, Huijsen was actually born in the Netherlands, and interestingly, his first match for Spain was against the Dutch.
This season, Huijsen has impressed with his strong performances, earning a reputation as a confident defender. As a result, rumors suggest interest from top clubs like Real Madrid and Newcastle, with a potential move away from Bournemouth seeming increasingly likely.
