Liverpool and Everton are scheduled to face off in the 30th round of the English Premier League in early April, but both clubs have requested a rescheduling.
Details: The Merseyside derby is currently set for Wednesday, April 2, but both Liverpool and Everton have expressed a preference to move the match to 24 hours earlier, on April 1.
According to the Daily Mail, the issue arises from Arsenal’s game against Fulham on Tuesday, April 1, and Everton’s upcoming match with Arsenal on Saturday, April 5. This tightens Everton’s preparation time for the derby.
However, the Premier League has denied the request. The league has stated that the original date stands, as it does not require either club to play another match within 60 hours, which is the minimum allowable period between games.
Reminder: Liverpool’s head coach Arne Slot revealed in his book that the lost Premier League title is something that will haunt both him and the players for a long time. However, Slot believes the true trophy is the lasting memory he leaves with the fans.
