The African Football Confederation (CAF) has officially announced the postponement of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), originally scheduled for February 2025 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The tournament will now take place in August 2025.
Reasons for the Postponement
This decision follows extensive consultations among CAF members and experts, who recommended rescheduling the tournament due to insufficient readiness of stadiums and logistical arrangements in the host countries.
Acknowledgment of Host Nations’ Efforts
CAF President commended the presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda for their dedication and efforts to accelerate the preparation of stadiums and infrastructure to host the tournament successfully.
The new timeline is expected to allow the host nations to address the necessary improvements and ensure the tournament meets CAF standards.
