The prize money for Morocco and Madagascar has been officially confirmed following the conclusion of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which wrapped up on Saturday.
Morocco emerged as champions after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Madagascar in the final, held at the Moi International Sports Centre.
Youssef Mehri opened the scoring for Morocco, with Oussama Lamlaoui adding a brace to secure the win. Madagascar fought valiantly, with goals from C. F. Manohantsoa and T. N. Rakotondraibe, but ultimately fell short.
As CHAN 2024 winners, Morocco claimed the gold medal along with a $3.5 million prize. Madagascar, finishing as runners-up after an impressive tournament run, took home silver medals and a $1.2 million reward.
