BlueCo, the ownership group behind Chelsea and Strasbourg, have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Paraguayan forward Julio Enciso, in a deal worth approximately €20 million.
The 21-year-old will initially join Strasbourg on loan as part of BlueCo’s multi-club model, with a long-term plan to integrate him into the Chelsea squad in the future.
Enciso is currently recovering from a knee injury, having struggled with fitness issues since joining Brighton from Club Libertad in 2022. His time at the Amex Stadium has been disrupted by a torn meniscus, which sidelined him for six months and forced him to miss 38 matches for both club and country.
Despite showing flashes of brilliance — scoring five goals in 57 appearances — the young forward has fallen down the pecking order under new Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler.
This latest move continues a growing trend of player transfers between Brighton and Chelsea under BlueCo ownership. Enciso becomes the fifth player acquired from Brighton since 2022, following Marc Cucurella, Moises Caicedo, Robert Sánchez, and João Pedro.
The deal underlines BlueCo’s commitment to building a pipeline of talent across their clubs, using Strasbourg as a development stepping stone before players transition to Chelsea’s first team.
