Chelsea have reached an agreement with Villarreal for the transfer of defender Renato Veiga, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The deal reportedly includes a €25 million fixed fee, with an additional €4.5 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause included.
Veiga is expected to complete his medical with Villarreal this Thursday, finalizing the move. The 22-year-old defender joined Chelsea on a seven-year contract from FC Basel last year but will now continue his career in La Liga.
In other transfer news, Chelsea have rejected a loan offer from RB Leipzig for their midfielder Christopher Nkunku this summer. The Premier League club, based in west London, appear determined to sell Nkunku permanently after signing forwards Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
It remains uncertain whether Chelsea will receive further bids for Nkunku before the summer transfer window closes in September.
