Deon Hotto has been a consistent and key performer for the Namibia national team since making his debut in 2013. The 34-year-old has delivered impressive performances throughout his career, particularly during his time in the Betway Premiership with various clubs. Whether it was with Bidvest Wits or as a key figure in helping Golden Arrows secure their return to the PSL in 2015, Hotto has made a significant impact.
His standout performances with Bidvest Wits earned him several offers, ultimately leading to a move to Orlando Pirates, where he has remained ever since. Since 2022, Hotto has also worked under coach Colin Benjamin, and he continues to thrive in his role.
Benjamin praised Hotto’s adaptability and football intelligence: “We give Deon a structure within the team, identifying the positions we need, and he uses his experience to find his players and break lines. He can play left-back, wing-back, or right midfield, and even in between the 10. He never complains.”
Benjamin also spoke highly of Hotto’s dedication and patriotism, saying, “The attitude and patriotism these guys show towards their country is unmatched. We, as Namibia, are proud to have them. They are an inspiration not only to their families but also to young kids coming through. We wish him all the best, hoping he stays healthy, scores goals, and continues to perform at his best.”
