A video of Neymar training with Al-Hilal’s core group recently circulated online, leading to speculation about his imminent return. However, the club’s head coach, Jorge Jesus, does not share that optimism.
According to the Portuguese manager, it’s still too early to discuss Neymar’s return, and the star striker may not rejoin the squad until January.
“Neymar is an important player for Al-Hilal and the league as a whole. However, I cannot provide a timeline for his return; we will assess the situation in January,” Jesus told Goal.
For context, Neymar transferred to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 from PSG for €90 million. He suffered a serious knee injury, tearing his cruciate ligaments, during a World Cup 2026 qualifier against Uruguay on October 18. Since joining Al-Hilal, he has only played five matches, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
