It appears that Milan is set to appoint a new head coach for next season, with the club dissatisfied with the team’s performance under Sergio Conceicao. Milan has already identified their top choice for the role.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan’s management is keen on bringing in Roberto De Zerbi, currently at Marseille, as their next head coach.
Fabio Paratici, who is set to take on the role of sporting director at Milan, is a big admirer of De Zerbi’s coaching methods and the playing style he implements, and he is actively advocating for his appointment.
However, De Zerbi is reportedly facing serious tensions with Marseille’s players. Following a 1-3 loss to Reims, he refused to hold a training session on Monday, and the players decided to skip training in protest. Additionally, De Zerbi’s criticism of the players over their attitude, particularly after a poor result, further strained relations, as he reportedly scolded them during breakfast for smiling.
After 30 rounds of Serie A, Milan currently sits in 9th place.
A side note: Kyle Walker sharply criticized Joao Felix during halftime of the match against Napoli, which ended 1-2.
