This was the fifth meeting between the two sides this season, and Milan remained unbeaten across all encounters—claiming three victories (2-1 in Serie A, 3-2 in the Super Cup, and 3-0 in the Cup second leg) and drawing twice (1-1 in both the Cup and the league).
The Rossoneri have now gone five consecutive derbies without a loss, a feat they last achieved in the 2004/05 season. Even more impressively, this marks only the third time in their history that Milan has beaten Inter three times in a single campaign. Their best unbeaten run in the derby dates back to 2002–2005, spanning ten matches.
With this latest Derby della Madonnina triumph, Milan also crushed Inter’s dreams of a treble. Up next, Sergio Conceição’s men will face either Bologna or Empoli in the Coppa Italia final, while Inter look to regroup ahead of their Serie A clash with Roma in Round 34.
