Bayern Munich is contemplating legal action against Canada Soccer due to Alphonso Davies’ severe knee injury, which includes a torn ACL, sustained during the Concacaf Nations League match against the U.S. Bayern alleges medical negligence by the Canadian federation.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed outrage to Bild, demanding a full investigation and reserving the club’s right to pursue legal action. He criticized Canada Soccer’s decision to play Davies despite prior muscular issues and condemned his long flight back to Munich without proper medical assessment. Sporting director Christoph Freund labeled the situation “unprofessional.”
Adding to Bayern’s defensive woes, Dayot Upamecano also returned injured from international duty.
