Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has voiced his concern following injuries to key players Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka during their dominant 5-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday.
Ødegaard was forced off in the first half with what appeared to be a shoulder injury and was replaced by youngster Ethan Nwaneri. Saka, who had earlier netted Arsenal’s second goal, was substituted in the second half for Leandro Trossard after feeling discomfort.
Speaking after the match, Arteta said: “We’ve already been without Kai [Havertz] this week, and now Martin seems to have picked up a shoulder issue. We’re not sure yet how serious it is.”
He added, “As for Bukayo, he felt something in his hamstring during a tussle with a defender. We’ll need to assess both players, but I’m quite concerned.”
Arsenal now face a crucial away clash against Liverpool in their next Premier League fixture on Sunday.
