Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided updates on the injury status of several players ahead of their Premier League match against Bournemouth this weekend.
Speaking to the media, Arteta shared optimistic news regarding Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Martinelli. He noted, “Saka’s injury is not serious; he’s progressing well. He has been doing some work over the last couple of days, and we’re hopeful he can recover in time for the match. We have a training session later today to assess his readiness.”
Regarding Havertz, Arteta mentioned, “He’s been dealing with a few issues but has been brilliant in his communication with the manager. If he trains well today, he has a strong chance of being fit and available.”
As for Martinelli, Arteta said, “He arrived just yesterday afternoon, so we had limited time with him. He’s eager to show how he’s feeling, and today will be another step to determine if we can take the risk. I know he’ll say he’s fit to play.”
However, Arteta confirmed that Martin Ødegaard will not be available this week, but he remains optimistic about next week, saying, “Next week will be crucial as he continues his rehab.”
On the status of Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Ben White, Arteta added, “They’re all quite close to returning. Today, we’ll push to see how they’re doing. We are experiencing some difficulties with numbers on the right side, so we hope to have positive news soon.”
