Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has revealed that the club has already identified a potential successor for manager Pep Guardiola amid uncertainty surrounding his future. Guardiola’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, prompting speculation about his next steps.
Ederson expressed confidence in the club’s preparedness during an interview with TNT Sports Brazil. “City is a very well-structured club, with great management, directors, and a strong CEO,” he stated. “I believe the club already has the next manager in mind. When Pep decides to leave, they will aim to maintain the same level of performance.”
He acknowledged the impact of Guardiola’s departure, saying, “It would undoubtedly be a significant loss; we’re talking about the best manager in the world. However, I believe the club is well-prepared for the post-Pep era.” Under Guardiola’s leadership, Manchester City has enjoyed remarkable success, securing six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy.
