Norwegian national team star Erling Haaland was clearly delighted with his team’s performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Moldova. The Norwegians dominated, securing a 0-5 victory, with Haaland netting a standard goal. After the match, he shared a photo with his national team colleague on Instagram.
In the photo, Erling poses alongside Erik Botheim, a forward for Swedish club Malmö. Botheim replaced Haaland in the 78th minute of the match. Based on the picture, the players appear to be on a plane, likely flying out of Moldova, where the match was held.
In addition to Norway and Moldova, Group I of the qualifiers also features Estonia, Israel, and Italy. Italy joined the group after being eliminated by Germany in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals. Germany’s qualifying group includes Northern Ireland, Slovakia, and Luxembourg.
On March 25, Norway will play their second qualifying match for the World Cup — an away game against Israel, which will take place in Debrecen, Hungary.
