A few days ago, Everton officially changed ownership, with the club being taken over by Blue Heaven Holdings and the Friedkin Group, the same organization that owns AS Roma. The new owners are already planning significant changes for the team.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Friedkin family plans to replace head coach Sean Dyche with Maurizio Sarri.
Since departing Lazio, Sarri has been searching for a new challenge and is reportedly enthusiastic about leading a new project. He is open to returning to England, and Everton’s new ownership has promised substantial investment to support him.
It’s worth noting that Gareth Southgate had previously been considered as a possible successor to Dyche.
Everton has struggled in the Premier League this season, earning just one point in their first five matches.
In addition to his time at Lazio, Sarri’s managerial career includes stints at Chelsea, Napoli, Juventus, and several lower-league Italian clubs.
