Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that winger Noni Madueke will be available for selection in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense, despite ongoing transfer speculation linking the player with a move to Arsenal.
Madueke, 23, has been a regular presence in Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign and has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners. However, a deal between the two clubs is yet to be finalized.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Maresca addressed the speculation and reaffirmed his trust in the player.
“Personally, I think it was the same noise before the Palmeiras game, and we gave him half an hour—and he was very good,” Maresca told reporters. “I don’t have any doubts that if we need Noni, he will help us.”
The manager also acknowledged the challenges players face when surrounded by transfer rumors:
“I can understand when there is noise around you—it’s difficult to deal with that.”
Chelsea will look to maintain focus amid the speculation as they prepare for a crucial semi-final showdown with Brazilian side Fluminense.
