Clashes between Real Madrid and Barcelona are often marked by heated debates and grievances about refereeing, with fans and team representatives frequently voicing complaints after the game. However, in Catalonia, the focus seems to be different this time, at least leading up to the match.
Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, addressed the matter calmly, stating he has experience playing at Santiago Bernabéu and has never encountered any issues with the referees. Flick emphasized the difficulty of the referees’ job and expressed confidence in the review systems in place to handle any controversial calls.
“Referees have a very tough job. My role is to prepare the players, not to focus on officiating. I’ve had good experiences with referees and don’t have any issues. I told my team to concentrate on the game, not the referee’s work. There’s a system for reviewing calls if necessary. I’ve played there before, and there’s never been an issue,” Flick said in comments shared by Marca.
