Lukas Podolski, the former German national team star currently playing for Polish club Górnik, has been named the new brand ambassador for Lay’s, as reported by Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Podolski is expected to take part in a new advertising campaign for the popular snack brand, which has previously collaborated with football legends such as Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry.
It’s worth noting that Podolski plans to retire at the end of this season. While his future is still uncertain, there are rumors suggesting he could become the majority shareholder of Górnik, the club where he is currently playing.
This season, the 39-year-old has made 21 appearances for Górnik, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions.
To recall his illustrious career, Podolski was part of the German team that won the 2014 World Cup. He also clinched the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal with Bayern Munich in the 2007/08 season and the 2014 FA Cup with Arsenal.
