On the evening of October 9, Greek footballer George Baldock, who played for Panathinaikos and the national team, was found dead at his home. Although initial suspicions pointed to a possible burglary, Greek police have released preliminary findings that suggest otherwise.
According to the Evening Standard, citing Greece’s Ministry of Civil Protection, forensic examiners found no signs of violence on Baldock’s body. Additionally, police ruled out theft, as there were no indications of a break-in or missing items.
A statement from authorities confirmed: “A preliminary investigation conducted by the Attica Security Directorate, along with a forensic pathologist’s examination, revealed no signs of criminal activity. Furthermore, a thorough search of the house found no evidence of a burglary, and the possibility of foul play has been excluded by a specialised team from the Criminal Investigation Directorate.”
